Small details, better drinks
- This recipe uses carbonated grapefruit soda, not plain grapefruit juice.
- Soda brands differ in sweetness and color; pink grapefruit does not mean a neon-pink drink.
- Do not close carbonated liquids inside a shaker.
- If you choose the optional salt rim, omit the pinch added directly to the drink.
Good to know
Can I use fresh grapefruit juice?
That is a different variation requiring sparkling water and a separate sweetness decision. Juice is not a one-for-one soda replacement.
Does the salt go on the rim?
The base specification adds a pinch to the drink. A salt rim is an optional presentation.
Do I need a shaker?
No. Build the Paloma directly in an ice-filled glass.
