Choose liqueur or syrup and use the ingredients displayed for that version.
For the liqueur recipe, fill the glass with ice, pour in elderflower liqueur and add mint leaves.
Add measured prosecco and soda, then stir gently.
Garnish with lime and a mint sprig. Follow the variant note when making the syrup version.
Small details, better drinks
- Syrup and liqueur differ in sweetness and alcohol. Do not substitute them one for one.
- Treat mint gently rather than shredding it into the drink.
- This is the French metric St-Germain recipe; its US recipe uses a different ratio, not simply a unit conversion.
Good to know
Is the syrup version alcohol-free?
No. It still contains prosecco. Removing the liqueur does not remove all alcohol.
How are syrup and liqueur different?
Liqueur contains alcohol and syrup usually does not. Their sweetness differs too, so choose the complete recipe variant.
Can I use a different sparkling wine?
A dry sparkling wine can work as a variation. Check its ABV and expect a possible change in sweetness.
