How to make it
Click a step number to mark it as done.
Chill a cocktail coupe.
Combine rum, lime juice and superfine sugar in a shaker. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
Add ice cubes and shake until chilled.
Strain into the empty chilled glass. Serve without a garnish.
Small details, better drinks
- Dissolve the sugar before adding ice.
- A barspoon measures the sugar, not liquid millilitres.
- A frozen variation uses a different technique.
Good to know
Do I need a blender?
No. The classic recipe is shaken.
Can I swap sugar for syrup?
Not volume for volume: syrup contains water as well as sugar.
Does it include strawberries?
That is a flavoured variation, not this classic recipe.
